Field Trip Report - Jakarta (19/8/09)

Wednesday (19/8), 9th grade students went field trip to Jakarta. Our destinations were, Museum of Bank Indonesia, Museum of Bank Mandiri, and Monas. We left for Jakarta at 6 am which our first destination was Museum of Bank Mandiri,. It took about 3 hour’s journey to reach the place. We watched a movie, about Jakarta, Bandung, and Bogor in the past. Then we walked around the museum and got some explanation. Then we got back into the bus for having some little rest.

After visiting Museum of Bank Mandiri, our next destination was Museum of Bank Indonesia. The building is near to Museum of Bank Mandiri, so we did not go there by bus but we just walked. When we arrived, unfortunately we can’t enter directly but we have to wait until our turn. Finally our turn came; the officers gave us the tickets. Same as what we did at Museum Bank Mandiri, we walked around the museum and have been given some explanation. In my opinion, in Museum BI the explanation was more clearly and so does the place is more comfortable than Museum Bank Mandiri. We also watched a movie in Museum Bank Indonesia. Generally, Museum Bank Indonesia has better and more collection than Museum Bank Mandiri.

Before we went to Monas we had our lunch and prayed at Masjid Istiqlal, and also took a little rest for about an hour. Then we went to our last destination. We met some traffic jam on the way. We finally arrived at 3 pm, and the bus parked at parking area. From parking area to the “entrance gate” we went by a vehicle that look likes a train which available for visitors. Then we crossed the road through underground tunnel. We have to buy ticket. Then we went to the top of the Monas after having a long queue. We rent telescope, and paid Rp. 2000 per telescope. When we went downstairs, we met long queue for the second time.

Before we went to Bandung, we got some little problem due to some students went to a wrong way while looking for a toilet. So we have to wait. Finally they found our bus then we can go home. On the way we stopped in a rest area for about 45 minutes. We arrived at school at 10 pm. Well; I feel so tired but it was very interesting trip.
